Remote/Mining Workforce Delivery Platform

Webits designed and built a mining workforce delivery platform for Cater Care that connects QR-led vessel ordering, store fulfilment, and central control across remote mining environments.

The brief

What needed to change.

Remote workforce delivery does not behave like standard online ordering. Workers need to start from the right site and vessel, order inside the correct delivery window, and trust that the order will move through a scheduled fulfilment cycle.

The brief was to make that operating model clear across every surface: a worker app for QR-led ordering and delivery tracking, store tools for packing and dispatch, and central portals for Cater Care teams to manage cycles, vessels, orders, finance, reporting, and operational access.
The challenge

What made it complex.

The challenge was turning remote workforce ordering into a controlled delivery operation, not a generic commerce flow with delivery added later.

01

Ordering had to start from the right place

Workers could not be dropped into a generic store catalogue. Each order needed the right site, vessel, store, delivery window, and destination context from the start.

02

Fulfilment needed cycle-based control

Remote delivery runs needed packing summaries, per-order quantities, dispatch states, and cycle visibility instead of a flat list of incoming orders.

03

Worker, store, and head-office views had to stay connected

The app, fulfilment tools, delivery manager views, and central admin layer all needed to share the same delivery state and operational truth.

04

A shared commerce base needed deeper logistics logic

The platform had to extend commerce foundations with vessels, QR entry, delivery settings, POS routing, packing, dispatch, and reporting without becoming brittle.

What we built

The operating system delivered.

Webits built a connected Django and React Native platform covering QR vessel entry, site-aware store selection, delivery checkout, fulfilment tracking, delivery cycles, packing lists, dispatch control, vessel management, store delivery settings, POS routing, payment infrastructure, finance views, and reporting.

Worker delivery

QR-led vessel ordering

Workers enter the delivery journey from a vessel-aware flow, using QR-led context so the order starts with the right site and destination.

Delivery checkout and tracking

The app carries vessel context through store selection, menu browsing, cart, checkout, payment, and fulfilment milestones after the order is placed.

Fulfilment operations

Delivery cycles and order control

Store teams manage delivery runs through named cycles with order counts, timing, status movement, and visibility over the work in progress.

Packing, dispatch, and exception handling

Packing lists, product tallies, partially packed states, dispatch handling, and delivered-cycle views give fulfilment teams practical operational tools.

Platform control

Vessels, QR infrastructure, and store settings

Cater Care teams can manage vessel records, QR-linked entry, site-level delivery points, store delivery windows, fees, and scheduling rules.

Orders, finance, reporting, and access

Central teams can review delivery-aware orders, finance reports, site and store activity, delivery-manager permissions, and operational access from the portal.

What changed

The result of the rebuild.

The platform gives Cater Care a clearer operating layer for remote delivery, connecting worker ordering, store fulfilment, dispatch control, and central reporting in one system.

Remote ordering became a controlled workflow

Workers start from the right site and vessel context, then order through a delivery-aware path instead of a generic commerce flow.

Fulfilment moved into delivery cycles

Store teams can work through named cycles, order groups, packing states, and dispatch movement rather than managing a loose order queue.

Packing became easier to manage

Product tallies, per-order quantities, partially packed states, and packing views give teams a clearer way to prepare delivery runs.

Dispatch and delivery state became visible

Dispatch movement, delivered-cycle history, and worker-facing tracking keep fulfilment progress visible across the app and portal.

Vessel infrastructure became manageable

Vessel records, QR entry, and site-level delivery points are handled inside the platform instead of being managed as disconnected static data.

Central teams gained stronger oversight

Cater Care operators can review delivery orders, store settings, finance reports, site activity, and role-based access from one operational layer.

The platform created room for rollout

The delivery-led foundation can support more remote sites, stores, vessels, ordering windows, fulfilment roles, and reporting needs over time.
